Eco Friendly hotel & CSR commitments

Ecology, protection of the environment and civic responsibility

Alongside the other members of the Les Hôtels Victoria group, the Hôtel de France Invalides is committed to sustainable development and promotes ethical and responsible behaviour on a day-to-day basis.

We have signed a CSR charter that commits us to our teams and partners as well as to you. All the decisions taken by our management teams and the day-to-day work of our staff fully express these family management values, which encourage well-being at work and respect for the environment.

Our main actions

The Paris City Council’s “Le Pari(s) Zéro Plastique” initiative: completely doing away with single-use plastic. The self-service water fountain in the hotel is also part of this approach.
“Ici, je choisis l’eau de Paris” (“Here, I choose Paris water”) movement: the hotel is one of the 800 places where everyone – you, our teams and visitors who want to fill their water bottles – can enjoy quality drinking water.
Energy savings: we have invested in renovation work on the windows and roof to improve thermal insulation.

CSR also means civic-minded actions

The building complies with disabled access standards and we have 2 PMR (People with Reduced Mobility) rooms with all the specialised equipment.
Ethics and citizenship by reducing the drudgery of our teams’ tasks: use of the Levli device for raising the bed to man-height for easier changing of sheets and cleaning under the bed.
1-check digital system and streamlined communication between departments: reduction in maintenance printouts, centralisation of room allocation to staff, and improved “lost and found” management.

Our teams also work every day to save energy and reduce our carbon footprint

by ensuring that equipment is in good working order and that it is properly maintained.
by using environmentally-friendly equipment and cleaning products.
by offering organic and green welcome products.
by using Vapodil to clean rooms with dry steam before each arrival.

You are the first and main beneficiaries of this behind-the-scenes work

We have installed a self-service micro-filtered water fountain.
The plastic bottles that you had to pay for have been replaced by free glass bottles that you can refill as often as you like.
A box for collecting used batteries is available at reception .
You will now find a selective recycling bin in every room.
At breakfast, we select mainly organic products.
The Pause gourmande, available in the afternoon, offers pastries not eaten in the morning.

A collective engagement

To be a complete success, this commitment must be a collective one, and you can play an active part in these efforts to save energy and reduce our carbon footprint through small everyday acts.

These include:

Switch off the lights and heating when you leave the room
Favour natural light and ventilation
Choose a shower rather than a bath
Mark towels for reuse by leaving them on the racks
